Cute nail polish is back in style and I’m so excited about it! I feel like manicures got super boring and all the sudden in 2019 it’s back in style to do fun and different things with your nails!
When I was in elementary and middle school it was so cool to paint your nails all different colors, add stickers, or put designs on them. I remember always having alternating colors on my nails when I was younger. And do you remember the nail decal sheets that were the coolest things ever?! Well, it’s all back and I’m definitely here for it.
Going to get your nails done is really expensive, especially if you request different colors or designs. All the extra stuff adds up quick. If you are in college, like myself, it’s not in the budget to get your nails done. That’s why I’m going to be sharing with you how to achieve these looks at home.
Nail trends:
1. Pastel rainbow
I’ve been seeing this everywhere and I’m sure you have too. This nail trend is all over Pinterest and Instagram. I absolutely love it and think it’s so fun! Life is short, why not paint every nail a different color!
Get this look:
If you get the nail polish pack then the dryer is necessary to dry them since it is gel. If you don’t want to buy a whole pack of colors and a dryer then I recommend getting Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polish. It’s my favorite nail polish because it applies really well and dries instantly.
2. Large stars
This is SO cute! I love this manicure for the summer. It would be perfect to do for the 4th of July!
Get this look:
This is a white nail art pen so you can draw the stars. Using a nail art pen with a fine tip makes it really easy to do this. This way you can do different sized stars like in the picture.
3. Little stars
As you can tell, I love the star nail trend. I think it’s really pretty and minimalistic. If you don’t like bold nails and just want a subtle detail, this is for you.
Get the look:
To get this look all you have to do is paint your nails with whatever color you want, then place these little stars on with tweezers. Lastly, go over them with a layer of clear nail polish.

4. Colorful geometric
I love this manicure! It screams summer! This manicure will look like you went to get your nails done (even though you did it yourself!). It might look difficult to do this from the picture, but is actually really simple!
First step is to paint your nails white and let it dry. Then put tape on each nail where you want the color to begin. This will give you a straight, clean line. Then use whatever color you want for the triangle shape. The tape does all the work here, just make sure it’s pressed down onto the nail so no color gets underneath it and makes it look messy.
5. Leopard design
This is another manicure that looks really hard to do, but it’s not! Do you remember when those nail art decal sheets that were super popular like 8 years ago? And they were SO expensive? Well, lucky for all of us now they sell packs of them on Amazon that are really inexpensive. You don’t even have to paint your nails to get this look. Its super cute and really easy to do with the nail art decal sheets.
