Hey friends! Today I’m going to be sharing with you items every college student needs. Going into my freshmen year of college 2 years ago, I had no clue what to purchase. After reading a bunch of packing lists from Pinterest, my bank account (and my moms) was hurting. So I’m here to let you know the things I actually used – and you can get this all on Amazon!
If you are a freshman and haven’t signed up for your 6-month trial of Amazon Prime you can right here! You’ll be able to get all your dorm needs with 2 day free shipping!
If you’re anything like me and love to lay in bed on your phone you need these extra long chargers. Dorm rooms don’t really have many outlets and if you plan on raising your bed a regular charger won’t reach.
I like to keep a smaller charger in my backpack for when I’m on campus. When I’m at the library for hours a phone charger always comes in handy.
Your dorm room will probably have about 2 outlets so a power strip is a must. This one is great because there are USB ports on it as well.
Keurig’s are a must for the mornings you don’t have time to go get a coffee, which will probably be every morning. I never had time to do a coffee run before class so my Keurig was definitely put to use.
A mattress pad is a must. I wouldn’t have survived without one. A good night sleep is so important (and so are naps). I linked a Twin XL mattress pad because that is usually dorm bed sizes, but just make sure that’s the right size for you!
I used my desk lamp every day when I was studying. My dorm room only had one light and wasn’t close to where my desk was. It also comes in handy when your roommate wants to go to bed, but you still have work to do. I’m super happy I had a nice desk lamp.
I had this exact vacuum my freshman year. We stored it behind our floor length mirror. It’s the perfect size for a dorm room and does the job!
Get yourself a swell bottle or any reusable water bottle! You will save so much money on packs of water bottles and you won’t have to carry packs of water bottles up to your room. Every floor in dorm buildings usually have water fountains to refill!
I had a regular humidifier I used every day. The air is super dry in dorm rooms which can dry out your skin. The one I linked is an essential oils humidifier so it’s even better. A humidifier is a must have in dorm rooms!
If you don’t already use a planner you should start when you get to college. I write everything down so I don’t miss any deadlines, appointments, or meetings. Get a cute one so you’re more likely to keep it out on your desk and use it!
I had a simpler desk organizer, but I wish I had one like this! It’s important to keep your desk organized with this so you don’t lose anything important.
I hope this list helps you pack for college. These are all things I used daily and I know will be a necessity to you! If you haven’t signed up for the free 6-month prime trial for students make sure you do that to get free 2 day shipping on your dorm essentials! You can sign up by clicking on the picture below!
